Cloud Music – Changing notion of Music Ownership

October 7th, 2010 1 comment

"cloud music" When Apple launched its iPod, one ad said “1000 songs, in your pocket.” Now the time is to get all the songs out of your pocket and listen then anytime, anywhere by just connecting to internet through your device.

Cloud based music service is the selection you should opt if you want to get rid of storing songs in MP3 player.

So will the people in future see ‘music’ as a thing they own or they will access the service when needed? Think of a situation when you do not need to carry your iPod with you everywhere to listen the songs. You have a service where you connect to internet through your phone and listen to any song you want stored in the cloud.

Definitely, it sounds great! But what is the problem? It is not easy to convince users to pay for listening to songs. For now at least, there is no cheap, cloud-based music service in the U.S. that gives you access to almost any song you want, from any device you want.

I think advertising supported free music service would be the best option which companies should focus on.

Dell’s Streak launched ahead of iPad in India

October 6th, 2010 No comments

Dell launched its tablet Streak in Bangalore yesterday ahead of iPad. Does this indicate that Dell Streak will also move ahead of iPad in Tablet Personal Computer Market?
Dell Streak
It is the first tablet PC based on Android from any major PC maker. Streak has 5-inch multi-touch screen and is based on Android. It is a hybrid device between Smartphones and large screen devices. Though it has a larger screen and is a bit big in size when compared to normal phones, it’s not significantly harder to accommodate in your daily life than an iPhone 4, which has a 3.5in screen.

Dell also announced a special advance exchange warranty on the Streak. The users will be eligible for special offer from Tata DoCoMo for data plans.

Does Dell’s launch of Streak ahead of iPad with good features help grabbing more consumers?

Analysts say that Dell has an impressive lineup of tablet devices and it shows the company’s seriousness about making an impact in the iPad-dominated market segment.

Does Microsoft have a competitive threat?

October 5th, 2010 No comments

Microsoft Inc. the company which has the monopoly in the computer operating system market, what may be the continuous competitive challenge for it…???

The company has increased its business by entering in the search engine, gaming applications, mobile operating system and mobile markets. The company has the monopoly in the computer operating system market but it has the threat to be toppled by other competitive companies like Google and Apple.

Recently Apple has beaten Microsoft in market capitalization as world’s second most valued company. Microsoft still lags behind Google in search engine market. Microsoft introduced its PC operating system with new versions but it still lags in the security. Its launch of Windows Vista did not meet the expectations. In the PC operating system Apple’s Macintosh provide a good security as it is hardware implemented. The search Engine guru Google is also planning to launch its operating system in the PC market.

Microsoft launched its Windows operating system for mobile. But after the launch of Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS, the Windows mobile operating system is loosing its race. Recently Microsoft launched Kin One and Kin Two mobile which lost its shine because these mobiles were only oriented towards the social networking applications and other applications which are normally provided in the smartphones were missing. Microsoft scraps its European launch of Kin mobiles. It strongly feels the heat of competition by Google and Apple. The launch of Apple’s iPhone -4GS and Google’s Nexus One has created a great challenge for Microsoft to be in the mobile market.

Microsoft is getting a great competition from two leaders Google and Apple.

Upcoming Generation : Mobile Generation

October 4th, 2010 No comments

By looking at the emergence of mobile market in the world, it is not ambiguous to say that the next generation is of mobile. The upcoming generation is mG, the so called mobile generation.

Each and every top company is trying to enter in the mobile market. Apple, Google and Windows, the three top players of technology have entered in the mobile market. Videocon Vodafone and RIL (Reliance Industries Limited) also entered in the mobile market. Recently Mukesh Ambani led RIL acquired Infotel that emerged as the sole winner of pan-India broadband spectrum.

In India, if we talk about the figure which is using the mobile, it comes out to be 600 million that is 2 users per mobile. In India, the internet users are 70 million and broadband users are 7 million. By looking at all these figures it is tacit that the next era is of mobile. The way, mobile market is emerging, gives the way to mG. The competition is growing day by day. In the mobile market, the mobile operators are increasing and trying to grab the market. As the mobile subscribers are increasing, the technology in the mobile field is also increasing. The inception of 3G has given an edge to the mobile market. A new technology TD-LTE (Time Division-Long Term Evolution) which is akin to 4G technology is tried to be used by US-based Qualcomm and Sweden’s Ericcson. The TD-LTE gives the download speed of 100 Mbps as compared to the 20 Mbps of 3G and 40 Mbps of Wimax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access).

All the new such technologies are giving the user to use the internet facilities at his/her mobile handset. The emergence of new technologies and subscribers gives the way to mobile generation.

Let’s Google it in reverse…

October 4th, 2010 No comments

"Google Reversed" In a normal life, whenever we stuck to a word and don’t know about that, we simply Google that word and find out the information related to that. It is not related to only some words or topics; we search images, pdf files, ppt files, music files etc. We simply type some words of lyrics of a music file and then the search engine redirect the page to different sites like Songs.pk, guruji.com etc. But just think can we perform the search in the reverse order…???

Suppose one can understand English but he is not aware of Spanish or French Or any other language and he can’t understand the words of that language. He listens to a song in Spanish and liked it very much and wants to get the lyrics of that song how can he get the lyrics…??? Until and unless he doesn’t type a word of that song on the Google, he is not able to get the lyrics.

Why not there must be a feature such that I put the music file to the search engine and it gives me the result in the form of lyrics file in English as per my priority which I will set at the time of uploading the file at the search engine. One can also search the images or maps in the reverse order, the user has to upload the image file or map file and then after clicking search the relevant search results will be displayed to the user.

So, this two way interaction and search may explore the things more and provide the users more facilities online interestingly.

October 2nd, 2010 No comments

In the field of IT sector, the competition is burgeoning. The global IT sector players are jostling to grab the 1st spot in the competitive ambience of the technology. The two top players in the IT sector Apple and Google are in the front to feel this competition and to lead in the IT sector.

Whenever we see or hear the word ‘i’ in the technology field the first company which comes to our mind is Apple. After the inception of smartphones, Apple has come as the most emerging company to be threat to other smartphone companies by introducing its iPhone in the market. What does the mean of ‘i’ in each and every product of Apple: it stands for “individuality”. The Apple is trying to give the users to feel the individuality. On the other hand, Google being the forerunner of the mobile market introduced its Android mobile operating system and now is grabbing the market very fast. Android is getting rave reviews in the market. Recently, Google has launched its ‘Nexus One’ smartphone to grab the mobile market.

The two companies not even neck to neck in the mobile industry, they are also the biggest competitors of each other in the market capture of their browsers. Safari which is the internet browser of Apple has the 8.88% market share in the US while the Chrome, internet browser of Google, has tipped as the third fastest browser in the world and grabbed the 8.97% of the market.

The two companies are the fast growing leaders in the present IT scenario.

Get a relief through Online Jobs

September 30th, 2010 1 comment

It is a bit hard for a fresher or an experienced to get a job of his/her choice through off-campus. In the last two years, after the meltdown in the world, the companies are hiring the candidates very cautiously. For a student it is very hard to apply to his/her preferred job and to be selected for that opportunity. There is a population of 1.2 billion in India and every year the number of unemployed and freshers is increasing. In such a competition, there may be the chances that a deserving candidate doesn’t get a job of his/her choice or he is not paid as per his/her expertise.

So why not a ruse must be devised such that the job seekers can get the listing of their preferred job at home and they can work from their home at their preferred projects and at their dream companies. There will be no extra expenses for the job seekers and the companies. Both can work under urgent situations when there is no possibility for the employee to be present in the office. In such a manner the global talent gets a platform to work with the reputed and dream companies and in such a manner the best solutions can be achieved by the best minds of all over the world and many problems can be solved. The idea of online jobs will provide the succor to improve the level of work and employee satisfaction. There will be no urgency for an employee to work for a limited time in the restricted manner. The employee can work at any time of the day whenever he/she is comfortable to do the work. Through this manner, the relaxation towards the completion of the work in the limited time may result the optimum use of the resources and may result a good quality product.

So, I think by providing a platform like online jobs may give a new shape to the corporate world where the global talents can interact and share their thoughts to achieve a common goal and the platform may provide the flexibility of the work which may not result to boredom and the employees can work as per their interest resulting to give a high throughput and output to the companies. By the way of online jobs, the number of unemployed persons who are not able to attend the offices physically can work from their home and in such a manner the percentage of the unemployment can be reduced.

Universal Account

September 28th, 2010 5 comments

There are certain situations when we just want to work on a one platform. Consider a situation that you are in a meeting and you don’t have even so much time to check your mail at different accounts or update the rife happening of your life at different social networking sites. You don’t even have so much time to tweet and update your status.

There may be a solution that a Universal Account may be created where a unique ID will be provide to the users and they will be asked of their current account at different sites. An information note will be displayed to the user and a list of the user accounts at different sites will be displayed to the user and the user will be asked that in which accounts he want to be logged-in. User can make a check on the account in which he wants to be logged in. When the user will check at the preferred accounts, all the preferred accounts will be open and the user can switch at the accounts.

This account can have extra features of a portal of communication where one can search for the profiles of users on the basis of location, person and sex. If one need to communicate a person of a particular functional area then he can leave this message at this portal and this message will be displayed to all the users and the interested person can contact to that person. For example, if a student needs a help for the completion of his project and he needs a developer to work with him so he can communicate through this portal by just making a universal account.

Getting this type of podium will ease the problems faced by the users while working on different accounts and there will be no need to remember the user name and passwords of dozens of email accounts or social networking site accounts and the user can interact with the person of the required functional area. In Such a manner, I think communication will ease a lot.

mG……….mobile Generation

September 27th, 2010 2 comments

The future of this fast computer era is the mobile communication. The world is approaching towards mobile generation. The excessive use of mobile applications in different fields makes it to lure more and more people. For example the use of mobile applications in railways, banks, payments of taxes, bills and any inquiries related to any field has surged the number of mobile users. The efficient and effective use of mobile applications has provided a succor to enhance the business aspects of an organization by undergirding B2B, B2G, B2C, C2C applications and providing a new vision to E-commerce.

But what is the cardinal point which makes a mobile to work? It is its Operating System which provides it to manage different functions of a mobile. It may be memory management, file management etc. Android is an operating system developed in November 2007 when Google, under the Open Handset Alliance, released Android. With the development of Android Google made available a host of development tools and tutorials, help files, software development kit (SDK) and much more.

Nowadays, millions of users are using its applications through different mobile sets, PDAs etc
